The Iowa Family Policy Center ACTION has invited former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to attend an upcoming fundraiser.

“We have reached out to Gov. Palin through both official and informal channels and extended an invitation for her to keynote our annual fundraising event,” President Chuck Hurley said. “We are not yet ready to confirm the specifics, but are hopeful that all the details can be worked out for her to come.”

IFPC Action began soliciting financial support for the event this week in anticipation of a Palin visit Nov. 21. It would be on a much larger scale IFPC’s event last year that was headlined by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal. Previous IFPC Action speakers include former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, and Family Research Council President Tony Perkins.

If Palin accepts the invitation, it would be her first trip back to Iowa since traveling the state as the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.

However, Palin spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton didn’t sound optimistic. She told the Associated Press more than 1,000 groups are seeking the former governor’s time and that she needed to tour to promote an upcoming memoir, “Going Rogue.”

Palin not coming to Iowa? There IS good NEWS!! and why would you want a brain numb, publicity seeking, incompetent conservative dullard to spear head any event? And she "didn't quit her position as governor to write and promote her own welfare?" horse hockey!! she is just the low kind of person that does ruin the opportunity to have valuable active political processes.

"…more than 1,000 groups are seeking the former governor’s time …"

Now there is a sign that we live in a declining society.

They may not want her now that she's asked for a $100k fee. A bit shocking that, as Republicans usually do this sort of thing at their own expense for the sake of their party.

    No really, read this.

Now there's a controversy surrounding an Iowa group trying to scrape together Palin's six-figure speaking fee. The Iowa Family Policy Center has invited former Governor Palin to address them on November 21, where she would be competing with Vice President Biden, attending the Iowa Democratic Party's Jefferson-Jackson dinner on the same day, for eyeballs and oxygen.

But her fee doesn't sit so well with some Iowa Republicans. “If somebody tells me they want me to pay an appearance fee, it tells me they’re not very serious about running for president,” said Ed Failor, Jr., president of Iowans for Tax Relief told Politico. “I found it really, really odd … They come and show up here because they want to be relevant in Iowa.” The move is unprecedented because Iowa, the site of the nation's first Presidential caucuses, usually doesn't have to pay to see aspirants to the highest office in the land–and has already played host to former Senator Rick Santorum, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee for free. Pressing the flesh with Presidential candidates is, like biodiesel and ethanol, the God-given right of every Iowan, and they don't expect to have to pay for the privilege.

I see your point. Also…. I didn't pay close enough attention but___ is there really a market for her that would pony up $100K!! REALLY? For Sara Palin… to hear her 'speak'. Really!
