The Marion Republican will begin his announcement tour at 9 a.m. at Ottumwa Lifetime Wellness and Chiropractic in Ottumwa followed by a stop at 10:30 in Mount Pleasant and a 1:30 p.m. visit to his hometown, Solon, in the public library reading room, 320 W. Main St.
Reed, who challenged Sen. Tom Harkin in 2008, has dubbed his campaign to replaces incumbent Rep. Dave Loebsack, a Mount Vernon Democrat, the “Defending our Children’s Future” tour.
“I want to ensure that ours is not the last generation to know liberty and freedom,” Reed said. “With out-of -control spending, 1,900-page health care bills, and an ever expanding federal government, we need to restore fiscal sanity in Washington D.C… That is what I will do.”
