Posted on Nov 04, 2009 by Adam Belz.
Update: Diana Nollen reports the film will be shot in Michigan.

Variety reports that the star of “Alien” and “Ghostbusters” will have a cameo role in “Cedar Rapids,” a comedy to be filmed about a smalltime insurance salesman attending a big industry conference right here in the City of Five Seasons.
It’ll be a Fox Searchlight film, directed by Miguel Arteta. Anne Heche, John C. Reilly and Ed Helms are also in the cast. No word on whether the film will be shot anywhere near here.

Something tells me this film will not be funny and will portray CR as a backward City?

Cedar Rapids isn't a backward city, it is just a city with a lot of economic disparities, a lot of people that don't get along because of believed gossip and a city in need of possible improvements that can be done, but don't get done because of special interest priorities!

People's Exhibit A of Backwardness: applying for "bike friendly" status while "streets" crumble to rubble and open up cracks big enough to swallow those bikes.

Applying for 'bike friendly' status doesn't cost us anything and makes it more appealing for people to relocate here. The existence of bike paths is one of the reasons I wanted to relocate here.

drrictus, riding bicycles is a very healthy thing to do, riding in a car everywhere is not, special interests, auto industry, health before wealth!
