Hlastradamus is not happy

Posted on Nov 06, 2009 by Mike Hlas.

Never mind last week’s 2-5 atrocity here. Hlastradamus is mad about something else.

Nat Newell covers high school football for the Indianapolis Star. He has a predictions column called Nat-stradamus.

Nat, there is only one -stradamus, and he lives here. Picking high school games is child’s play. The Mighty Hlastradamus was picking prep winners when he was a baby in the crib, smoking cigars and reading Daily Racing Forms.

On with the important duty. The lines, by the way, are courtesy of the Las Vegas Hilton.

las-vegas-hiltonWould it kill the Hilton to offer the Prophet a few comped nights in Elvis’ old suite on the Hilton’s top floor in exchange for that great plug?

1. Iowa -15.5 vs. Northwestern. The Hawkeyes will go into the fourth quarter trailing by 21 points, no doubt, then will reel off six straight touchdowns for the cover.

2. Missouri -14 vs. Baylor. Reason: Baylor isn’t good.

3. Minnesota -7 vs. Illinois. The Illini had their little fun last week against Michigan. The Gophers are plenty Jekyll/Hyde, but they’re playing Heckle/Jeckle.

4. Oklahoma -5.5 at Nebraska. The Mighty H would call this the lock of the week, but he almost did likewise with Michigan at Illinois last week.

5. Michigan -6.5 vs. Purdue. Because even people with crystal balls can be stubborn.
