MECHANICSVILLE – After losing his two brothers in the last four years, a Mechanicsville man has now lost his home.

Paul Griffith, 38, received a call from his father at about 9 a.m. Saturday to learn that his home was burning to the ground. “Me and my son were out fishing when my dad called,” said Griffith. “We rushed home and found the house totaled.”

The Griffith family is no stranger to tragedy.

In 2005, Paul’s brother Donald Griffith Jr. died while fighting in Iraq. On December 23 2008, the Griffith’s lost their youngest son Noel in a car accident. “I feel like if we didn’t have bad luck, our family wouldn’t have any luck at all,” said Amanda Weber, Griffith’s sister.

The Griffith family will be holding their fourth annual motorcycle rally for Donald and Noel Griffith next Saturday, September 12, in Mechanicsville Memorial Park. The rally begins at 1:00 p.m.
