HALE — Part of a machine shed was damaged when fire broke out at a farm in rural Jones County on Monday morning.
The fire was reported at 7:15 a.m. at 7347 100th Ave., just north of the tiny town of Hale, according to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office. The fire was knocked down quickly and completely extinguished in just more than an hour.
One section of the machine shed was damaged by the blaze. Inside, a skid loader, wagon and other small items were destroyed.
Investigators believe the fire was caused by a short in a drop cord, according to the sheriff’s office. No one was injured.
Firefighters from Wyoming, Olin and Oxford Junction assisted at the scene.
