Two arrested for dog fighting in Waukon

Posted on Sep 21, 2009 by admin.

Two men were arrested for dog fighting Sunday after police executed a search warrant at a Waukon home.

Derek G. Thompson, 19, and Michael J. Kalish, 18, both of Waukon, were arrested in connection with animal contest events (dog fighting) and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Both men were booked into the Allamakee County Jail, and the dogs were seized. The incident is still under investigation, and further charges may be filed, police said.

The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office assisted Waukon police at the scene.

Dog fighting? Come on find something better to do then fight your animals. These two should have put money on themselves and fought. This is ridiculous to fight an animal is messed up. I hope they both get some time for this…

Throw the book at both of them; that's not punishment enough for such cruelty. Good thing for them I'm not the judge.
