Masked men rob Cedar Rapids convenience store at gunpoint

Posted on Nov 11, 2009 by admin.

After displaying a handgun and hitting an attendant in the face, two masked men fled on foot from a southwest Cedar Rapids convenience store Tuesday night with a small amount of money from the store’s register.

The two suspects, described as being of average height and build, wearing black clothes and black bandanas over their faces, entered the Kwik Shop at 3301 J St. SW at around 10 p.m. One suspect displayed a handgun and the other punched the attendant in the face. They then ran off to the north of the store.

The store employee was alone when the two entered and he did not require medical attention. Police say that the suspects did not verbally threaten him, they only told him to open the register.

Cedar Rapids police are still investigating the incident.

Wow. I guess the clerk was too traumatized to note what race the suspects were. Either that, or somewhere in the editing process, vital information that could be used to identify and apprehend armed, at-large criminals got filtered out because, ya know, ya can't actually report the WHOLE news, or someone might get offended. I guess our only hope is that these guys don't think to change clothes or remove their masks. Thanks Gazette, for joining the legions of news outlets that have taken it upon themselves to decide what information the public can and can't handle responsibly.

"Police say that the suspects did not verbally threaten him," (the store attendant), "they only told him to open the register."

Why would the robbers need to verbally threaten the store attendant when they displayed a handgun and hit him in the face?

Yeah, giving the race of the suspects really narrows it down a whole lot. "Oh, they were white guys? Now we know who did it!"

If the gazette had reported the race of the suspects, there would be someone claiming racism if the suspects were of color. I'm sure several of us know who would be the first to start yelling.

Dig the PC description of the perps.
    Way to go Gazette.
    Curious:
Do you get some sort of bonus money for NOT printing the actual descriptions including race in your so called 'breaking news" snippets?
Some sort of kickback from the ACLU or some other lib-tard institution perhaps?
