Elkader Council approves contracts

The Elkader City Council Monday (9-14) approved a $173,173 bid, submitted by Top Grade Excavating, Epworth, for a water main project in conjunction with the city’s wastewater treatment plant project. Plans call for the continuation of previous water main construction and will begin at the Elkader Co-Op, ending at the waste water treatment facility next to the Highway 13 bypass.
A $48,900 bid, submitted by MB Construction, Monona, was approved to replace several water valves and manhole covers in the community. Another bid of $72,094, submitted by Kluesner Construction, Farley, was approved for street overlay projects on three city streets.
