Posted on Nov 24, 2009 by Meredith Hines-Dochterman.
Several Eastern Iowa students will be marching in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday.
Ann Mohni, a senior from George Washington High School in Cedar Rapids; Connor Almasi, a junior from Linn-Mar High School; Jessen Smith, a freshman from Clear Creek Amana High School; Keith Bell, a senior from Alburnett High School; and Shelby Schreck, a senior from Oelwein High School, were chosen to be in Macy’s Great American Marching Band. In fact, all Iowa students selected to perform in Macy’s Great American Marching Band were from Eastern Iowa.
Cheyann Weinacht, a senior cheerleader from John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, also will march in the parade, joining about 700 cheerleaders from across the country.
The parade will be televised on NBC, Channel 7, beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday.
