Lake Delhi residents begin to clean up

Cheryl Gotto wanted new carpet in her permanent home in the Linden Acres area on Lake Delhi, but not like this.

Gotto and her husband, Jerry, have lived on the property at 26355 212th Avenue since 1993, and had never seen anything quite like this.

Flood water had never come this close to the couple’s home. Before it had come up to the first step on the deck, and even then it had several feet to go before reaching the first floor den.

But at midnight Saturday, the couple awoke to high water creeping up the deck.  Cheryl looked at the backyard and saw “a pond” outside.  The couple grabbed what they absolutely needed and took off to go to a friend’s house.

Now, on Sunday, a day after the water reached record level, the couple has spent time with friends and family cleaning up the mess and throwing out furniture, carpet, appliances and other possessions.

I have seen some poorly written (and/or edited) stories on this website, but this one wins first prize in awful journalism.

  6. Random question: I am just starting my blog, but how did you start gaining readership? was it just natural? I mean how did people start finding you?

  8. Great post. I am just starting my blog as well. Do you find it hard to have something to say, because I don’t feel like natural writer and it seems to come natural for you.

  11. Although Zep costs more you do not have to use as much as the cheaper cleaner availables. I used Zep products when I did commercial cleaning 20 years ago. Nothing cuts through the crud like this shower cleaner! All their products work great and are commercial strength. If you use less product, it becomes cheaper over all than using LOTS of a cheaper one that will not do the job!
