Man hurt in crash near Alburnett

A Central City man was hurt in a single-vehicle accident near Alburnett on Monday.

John B. Oliver, 59, was northbound on Sutton Road around 7 p.m. when his pickup went out of control just north of Burnett Station Road, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. The pickup entered the west ditch and came to rest on its wheels.

Oliver was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, the sheriff’s office said.

Charges are pending. The accident is still being investigated.
