A state medical examiner said today that a Mount Pleasant man shot himself at a home southwest of Crawfordsville in early November.

Investigators say 37-year-old Ryan Scarff and his girlfriend had a suicide pact.

They believe after Scarff shot himself Nov. 3, his girlfriend then also shot him.

Investigators say she shot him while in a “state of panic” using Scarff’s gun.

The Washington County Attorney says the girlfriend will not face criminal charges.

  1. Let me guess: The pact was the girlfriend's idea? Just a hunch.
