Man steals $700 generator from Cedar Rapids hardware store

generatorstealA man entered Acme Tools at 1943 Blairsferry Rd. NE and stole a $700 generator, then covered his license plates before taking off in a silver Audi.

The incident happened around 3:40 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7. Witnesses called police, but the man got away before police could make it to the scene.

Surveillance video captured the man entering the store. He is described to be 5′10″, 180 pounds, with brown hair and was wearing a white jacket with a red sweatshirt underneath.
