This database contains salary information for approximately 1,850 federal employees based in Cedar Rapids, Dubuque and Iowa City. The information was released to The Gazette through an Open Records Request to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Federal Fiscal Year 2006 ended Sept. 30, 2006.

This database excludes employees of the Department of Defense (i.e. Army, Air Force, Navy, etc.). Names are not included for employees of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Secret Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Mint and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Several other employee groups determined to be “Sensitive Occupations,” such as U.S. Marshals and Central Intelligence Agency, were also excluded from release.
